Responsibility for building, maintaining should cost models

We are now actively looking for a Should Cost Engineer to work from our office in Chennai, India.


As part of our ambitious growth strategy, Danhydra is looking for a dedicated and experienced Should Cost Engineer which can build, develop and maintain a should cost model for tools and equipment withing the wind industry.

Main responsibilities:

  • Build, develop and maintain should cost models
  • Ensure transparency in cost structure for all commodity groups, both in the NPI phase and for existing commodities and BOM’s
  • Research and analyze market prices trends in terms of components costs, labor, and other relevant expenses
  • Secure target costing setting and support through out the ECM process as well as master-data maintenance
  • Report risks, market intelligence and collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on existing trends

Solid experience with P2P processes and a global mindset

You hold a relevant education, combined with +5 years of experience working for a company focused on technical purchasing and should costing. You are proficient in English, to negotiation level, and you are an excellent communicator, with superior writing skills and can generate clear and to-the-point communications.

You are tech-savvy in that you can obtain, digest and convert complex technical information and specifications into clear value propositions.

As a results-oriented team-player, you are used to taking the lead in getting things done within a dynamic, fast-changing environment, while focusing on gaining buy-in from various stakeholders.

The Should Cost Engineer will report directly to the Regional Supply Chain Manager, collaborate with the Functional Costing Manager.
